A viral video capturing a heated confrontation at Tatte Bakery & Café in the Washington, D.C., area has ignited social media debate.

The footage, posted by Annetta Catchings, a former Alexandria, Virginia, mayoral candidate, shows a white woman aggressively confronting Catchings, a Black supporter of former President Donald Trump.

Catchings claims the woman verbally attacked her three times, with a friend intervening to hold the woman back. Allegedly, the woman insulted Catchings as “uneducated” while listing her own professional credentials.

Catchings later shared a follow-up video, noting the woman had returned for a third confrontation after being reseated, claiming Tatte Café staff took no action.

Catchings post, urging the café to “do better,” implied the incident stemmed from political beliefs, fueling widespread reactions on X (formerly Twitter), with users condemning the altercation and questioning the woman’s identity.

By Sunday, social media users identified the woman as Patti Morrissey, founder and CEO of Global Foresight Strategies, a consultancy reportedly connected to various U.S. Congressional departments. Global Foresight Strategies’ website states Morrissey founded the firm in 2022, bringing 36 years of experience in government, security policy, and strategy.

Morrissey’s profile cites prior affiliations with the U.S. Congress, Department of Defense, and Department of State, among others. This identification stirred further discussion on social media, with users scrutinizing the consultancy's high-profile connections in light of the altercation.
