29 injured as bus from Raiwind overturns
A bus carrying more than 70 men returning from the annual Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Raiwind plunged into a drain on Sunday, resulting in injuries to 29 passengers.
The incident occurred as the bus was en route to Kot Addu after the congregation's concluding prayers.
Among the injured, 15 were transported to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Raiwind, and one passenger with more serious injuries was shifted to General Hospital. Thirteen others received first aid on-site.
The incident happened on a narrow road where the bus's tyre slipped off the edge, causing it to lose control and veer into the drain. Two buses were travelling parallel when the accident occurred.
Heavy machinery, including cranes, was dispatched to the scene to aid the rescue.
