Security forces killed four terrorist in an operation in South Waziristan’s Sra Rogha area, the military's media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said on Saturday.

The forces launched an operation following intelligence on the presence of Fitna al-Khawarij terrorist in the region.

“In a fierce exchange of fire, four terrorists were sent to their final destination,” the ISPR stated.

Security forces are conducting further operations in the area to ensure it is fully cleared of threats, the military added, emphasising its commitment to ridding the country of terrorism.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the successful mission, commending the forces for “thwarting the malicious plans of the terrorists.” He further stated, “The nation is proud of our security forces, and we stand united in supporting their efforts to eradicate militancy.”

The latest operation underscores Pakistan’s ongoing fight against militancy in its western tribal regions, where security forces regularly target militant hideouts in their bid to maintain stability.

On October 31, an Army major and two soldiers were martyred during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Bakka Khel area of Bannu District on Wednesday, while eight militants were also killed,

Security forces launched the operation after receiving reports of militant presence in the area. During the mission, troops engaged the militant hideout, resulting in the elimination of eight militants and injuring seven others, ISPR reported.

Major Atif Khalil, leading his team from the front, was martyred during an intense exchange of fire alongside two of his men, Naik Azad Ullah and Lance Naik Ghazanfar Abbas.
