Renowned Indian fashion designer Rohit Bal has passed away at the age of 63, following a prolonged illness. His colleagues and the fashion community mourn the loss of a creative visionary who transformed the landscape of Indian fashion.

Rohit Bal was celebrated for his ability to weave traditional Indian patterns with contemporary aesthetics, a skill that redefined modern Indian fashion and inspired generations of designers.

Born in a family engaged in textiles, Rohit graduated from St. Stephen’s College in New Delhi with a degree in history. He initially worked in his family's export business before launching his own label in 1990.

Over the years, he became known for his exquisite craftsmanship and innovative designs, drawing inspiration from India’s rich cultural heritage.

FDCI chairman Sunil Sethi reflected on Rohit's impact, stating that his unique perspective would leave an indelible void in the fashion industry. "Everyone admired him for his attention to detail and his understanding of modern women’s desires," Sunil Sethi remarked.
