In the Supreme Court Bar Association's (SCBA) annual elections, the Asma Jahangir group won a decisive victory, securing 12 seats. Returning Officer Zafar Mahmood Mughal announced the final results of the elections on Friday.
According to these results, Mian Rauf Atta from the Asma Jahangir group was elected the SCBA president with 1,637 votes. For the position of secretary, Suleman Siddiqui from the Hamid Khan group won with 1,785 votes.
In other results, Mohammad Ishaq from the Asma Jahangir group won the vice president seat for Balochistan with 1,499 votes, while Rana Ghulam Sarwar, also from the Asma Jahangir group, secured the vice president seat for Punjab with 1,654 votes.
For the vice president seat in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Mohammad Habib Qureshi from the Hamid Khan group won with 1,495 votes.
Malik Khushkhal Khan Awan from the Hamid Khan group has filed a case against Muhammad Nadeem Qureshi from the Asma Jahangir group in the Islamabad High Court over the vice president seat in Sindh, Suleman Mansoor from the Hamid Khan group won the secretary position with 1,785 votes, while Mohammad Aurangzeb from the Asma Jahangir group secured the additional secretary position with 1,628 votes, and Chaudhry Tanveer from the same group won as finance secretary with 1,599 votes.
Executive members from Balochistan, Malik Munir Ahmed from the Asma Jahangir group and Rehmatullah Khan from the Hamid Khan group were successful.
For the K-P, Ayesha Malik from the Hamid Khan group and Sawar Khan from the Asma Jahangir group were elected. For Punjab, Najma Rashid from the Hamid Khan group and Hamoodur Rehman from the Asma Jahangir group secured seats.
For Balochistan, Rizwana Jabeen Siddiqui and Ahmed Ali Diwan, both from the Asma Jahangir group, were elected as executive members.
