Sport can be a serious business, but players took it to an extreme during the final match of the Bajaur Cricket League at the Bajaur Sports Complex after a brawl left one of them dead.

Players and supporters of both teams attacked each other with chairs and sticks, damaging property, and breaking the pavilion's glass.

The clash left one person dead and several injured, including police officers. The injured individuals, including DSP Abdul Aziz, Sohail Salar, and other police personnel, were taken to Khar Hospital. The fight started when the third umpire declared a player from Team 804 out, sparking conflict between the two teams. Subsequently, the stadium turned into a battleground.

The deceased has been identified as Fazal Wahid Abdul Latif, aged 50, from Niag Mamond, Bajaur. Thousands of spectators were present for the match. District Police Officer (DPO) Waqas Rafiq, Khar Assistant Commissioner Dr Sadiq Ali, Assistant Commissioner Nawagai Riaz Khan, Additional AC Faiz Muhammad, and other senior officials, along with a heavy police force, arrived at the stadium to bring the situation under control. Spectators were evacuated and the final match was postponed.
