India’s blind cricket team is set to tour Pakistan this month for the Blind T20 World Cup 2024 as the question of India’s participation in the Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan remains unresolved.
The World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) on Friday released the schedule for the fourth edition of the tournament, featuring teams from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and hosts Pakistan.
The tournament will span from November 23 to December 3, with matches planned in Lahore and Multan.
Lahore will host 15 games, including the curtain raiser between Pakistan and South Africa, while Multan will stage nine matches, including the semi-finals and final. Arch-rivals Pakistan and India are scheduled to clash on November 25, raising anticipation among cricket fans.
Notably, India has claimed victory in all previous editions of the Blind T20 World Cup, held in 2012, 2017, and 2022, making this fourth edition—held outside India for the first time—a particularly awaited event.
Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has maintained that any decision on the men’s cricket team’s participation in the 2025 Champions Trophy will require approval from the Indian government.
BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla reiterated that the governing body is awaiting the government’s decision on international tours.
