Richard Simmons' brother, Leonard Simmons, is engaged in a legal battle with the late entertainer's longtime housekeeper, Teresa Muro, over control of his estate and valuable possessions. Leonard claims Muro removed $1 million in jewelry and fine art from Simmons' home following his death on July 13 at age 76. According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Leonard seeks to block Muro’s bid to become a co-trustee of the estate.

In her counter-filing, Muro argues she was one of Simmons' closest friends and that Leonard allegedly pressured her into signing documents that removed her as a co-trustee.

Leonard’s response claims that Muro has displayed hostility and questions her intentions, further alleging that she’s withholding the jewelry and potentially preparing her own project about Simmons. The ongoing dispute has heightened tensions, with Leonard expressing concerns that the estate’s property may be misappropriated or sold without his consent.
