The Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) has launched an online billing portal. The portal will bring significant convenience to industries. It will help identify and find solution to industries' waste management and other related issues.
Speaking at the launch event at the Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB), the SSWMB Managing Director, Imtiaz Shah said that the Sindh Solid Waste will collect charges from those industries only who receive the service.
The MD said that manufacturers would be able to access their bill information and make timely payments using the online billing portal.
He acknowledged that, despite the collection of municipal taxes, the contractors of Sindh Solid Waste have failed to provide adequate service, creating an opportunity for private contractor mafias to exploit the situation.
