Pir Sahib Pagara has reiterated his vow that amendment to the IRSA Act to construct six additional canals on Indus River to steal Sindh's water will not be allowed at any cost.

Chairing a meeting of GDA's Core Committee, Pir Sahib said, there a conspiracy is being hatched under a new scheme to further cut the water supply to Karachi. He said, he is ready to make every sacrifice for the rights of the people of Sindh.

The meeting decided to further mobilise the 'Save River Indus Campaign'. The GDA core committee also resolved to organise the GDA at the divisional, district, and central levels soon.

The meeting stressed the establishment of genuine democracy, rejecting the 2024 elections as fraudulent. The meeting also rejected the 26th constitutional amendment passed by the 'fake assembly'.

Pir Sahib added that contact with democratic political parties will continue. He urged people to wake up to claim their legitimate rights and that the GDA will continue its struggle for the issues, people of Sindh are facing. Concerns were raised over the deteriorating law and order situation in Sindh, and injustices being meted out to journalists.

The central secretary-general of the Functional League, Muhammad Ali Durrani, briefed the meeting about the political developments taking place at the federal level.
