England Test captain Ben Stokes has fallen victim to a burglary at his home while he was in Pakistan for the Test series.
The incident occurred at Stokes's residence in County Durham. Following the burglary, Stokes made a public appeal through social media.
In his message, Stokes revealed that a group of masked individuals broke into his home on the evening of October 17, stealing valuable jewelry and personal belongings. He emphasized that some of the stolen items held significant emotional value for him and his family.
Stokes stated, “This appeal is to help locate these individuals.” He also mentioned that the crime took place while his wife was home with their two young children. Fortunately, no one was physically harmed, but the incident has had a mental impact on his family.
The England cricket captain announced that he would be releasing descriptions of some of the stolen items in an effort to assist the police in capturing the culprits. He urged anyone with information to contact Durham Constabulary.
Stokes expressed gratitude to the police for their exceptional support during the incident, noting that he was in Pakistan at the time. He confirmed that the police are continuing their extensive efforts to locate the suspects.
