While on her GUTS world tour, pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo encountered a tense and unexpected situation when she was detained by federal agents at the Canadian border in the early hours of the morning. Rodrigo, whose tour has sold out arenas worldwide, was pulled aside after agents at the border mistook her for someone else.

In a recent Tonight Show interview with Jimmy Fallon, she detailed how she was escorted to an interrogation room at 3 a.m. by armed officers. At first, she thought it might be a fan encounter, but she quickly realized it was much more serious. The officers began questioning her about previous arrests, and she admitted to feeling “so scared” that she momentarily doubted her own memory, wondering if she had unknowingly done something wrong.

The confusion arose due to her resemblance to a woman named “Olivia Rodriguez,” who has a history of multiple arrests and is close in age to the singer. Rodrigo recalled the officers’ stern warnings, telling her that lying to federal agents could lead to jail time. The intense interrogation continued for 30 minutes, during which Rodrigo became increasingly anxious, fearing she might not be able to re-enter the U.S. Eventually, the mix-up was resolved, allowing Rodrigo to resume her tour.

Despite this alarming experience, Rodrigo's GUTS tour has been an overwhelming success, grossing an impressive $186.6 million and drawing over a million fans globally. To commemorate the tour's impact, Rodrigo released the GUTS tour film on Netflix, allowing fans to experience her powerful performances and behind-the-scenes moments. Her experience at the border adds yet another unforgettable chapter to her journey, reminding fans of her resilience and humor even in unexpected situations.
