Sindh government's substantial increase in funding for higher education institutions, from Rs6 billion to over Rs33 billion, shows its commitment for academic advancement, said Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah at the 33rd Convocation of NED University.

At the convocation, 1,700 bachelors, 277 masters, and 21 PhD degrees were awarded, while 29 students received gold medal for securing top positions. Graduates and their parents were overwhelmed with joy at the event marking fulfilment of their endeavours.

Students, with bright smiles and dreams of a promising future in their eyes, dedicated their achievements to their parents.

Cm Murad commended the institution for its significant contributions to the advancement of education and innovation in Pakistan.

In his address at his alma mater, he extended his congratulations to the graduating students and acknowledged the university's commitment to broadening its academic offerings to align with contemporary global knowledge trends.A focal point of his address was the proposed NED University Science and Technology Park, an ambitious initiative supported by ENERTECH and the Sindh government. He emphasised that this facility aims at enhancing collaboration among students, faculty, and industry stakeholders, thereby facilitating economic growth in the province.

The CM congratulated the graduates and urged them to leverage their exceptional education to contribute positively to their families, alma mater, and the nation.

IDEAS 2024

CM Murad Ali Shah has said that the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar-IDEAS 2024 would not only strengthen Pakistan's strategic relationships with international partners but would also enhance commercial exchanges among delegates, trade visitors, defence officials, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) from across Pakistan and around the globe.

He said this while addressing the third Steering Committee meeting of the 12th Edition of the IDEAS 2024 which is set to take place from November 19 to 22 at the Karachi Expo Centre.

Provincial ministers, DEPO DG Major General Asad Nawaz Khan, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah and representatives from armed forces attended the meeting.

Shah convened the meeting to finalize the comprehensive plans for the upcoming 12th edition of IDEAS 2024.

Major General Asad Nawaz Khan, informed the meeting about the finalisation of administrative, security, and support plans by various government departments, the Armed Forces of Pakistan, and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs).
