ISLAMABAD:

A man died while seven other sustained gunshot wounds as a result of two daylight bank robberies in a single day in the federal capital. Additionally, citizens faced 26 separate incidents of street crime and theft, yet local police have failed to apprehend any suspects.

The first incident occurred at the National Bank on Peshawar Turn, where a motorcyclist opened fire indiscriminately at security guards. Three guards—Ziaul Haq, Salimullah, and Qasim Shah—were injured, along with three hotel employees nearby. Tragically, one of the hotel staff, Mir Haider, succumbed to his injuries while Nazirullah and Nadeem were also hurt. Eyewitnesses reported that a helmet-wearing assailant fired a Kalashnikov before fleeing the scene with a bag of cash.

In a similar incident, armed robbers targeted the Allied Bank in G-14, injuring a security guard named Fazal. The robbers escaped with millions of rupees.
