Jennifer Aniston honors Matthew Perry on first anniversary of his death

Jennifer Aniston remembers Matthew Perry with heartfelt tribute, sharing personal photos and linking his foundation.

Jennifer Aniston paid tribute to her Friends co-star Matthew Perry on the first anniversary of his passing, marking the occasion with a heartfelt Instagram post. 

Aniston’s message, which simply read “1 year,” was accompanied by a heart-and-dove emoji, a symbol commonly used to honor loved ones who have passed away. The post included a link to the Matthew Perry Foundation, a non-profit organization founded in his name to support those battling addiction, which was a cause Perry had publicly championed.

Aniston’s tribute included a series of four photos, capturing moments from their long-standing friendship on and off the set of Friends. In the first image, Aniston and Perry are seen smiling for the camera in a black-and-white snapshot. The final photo in the series is of Perry laughing, a moment capturing the actor’s humor and lighthearted personality.

Perry, who portrayed Chandler Bing on Friends, passed away at the age of 54 on October 28, 2023. He was found unresponsive in the hot tub at his Los Angeles home, and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office later determined his cause of death to be acute effects of ketamine.

The tribute from Aniston serves as a reminder of the lasting impact Perry left on his co-stars and fans. His foundation continues his legacy, aiming to provide resources and support to those facing addiction.
