The sewage system has completely broken down in the Madras Chowk area of Scheme 33, Karachi. The busy highway has been submerged with stinking water for three days. Citizens are suffering. Traffic flow is also severely affected due to accumulated water and potholes on roads. The citizens have demanded sanitation and repair of sewage lines on urgent basis.
According to the details, the sewage system has become inoperative at Scheme 33 Madras Chowk in Karachi. The lines are clogged, and manholes are overflowing. A track of the busy highway from Sachal Goth to the Superhighway has been submerged in foul-smelling water for three days. It is impossible for the citizens to breathe because of the foul smell. Residents complain that the sewage system in this area has completely collapsed. Mud and sludge are constantly accumulating and potholes are causing damage to vehicles.
The potholes hidden in the stinking water have caused an additional problem leading to traffic jams. Patients in ambulances face extreme difficulties due to the congestion. Locals complained of severe traffic jams in the evenings. They said the main road was being neglected by the concerned institution.
