ISLAMABAD:

Federal capital traffic police have failed to keep traffic flow uninterrupted during the pending Park Road carpeting project.

The carpeting of Park Road, which leads to Tiramari and Rawal Dam Chowk, is currently underway and is the cause of massive traffic jams in the city on a daily basis. People going to schools, colleges, universities and offices are facing serious problems due to the traffic.

The project has become a headache for the 350,000 citizens of the federal capital. Even in its final carpeting stage, it poses serious problems for daily commuters as no dividers have been installed between the four lanes under-construction on both sides.

Citizens have said that the police should be present at the spot to keep the traffic flowing, but according to them, traffic police officers have been completely absent. Several times, ambulances also get stuck in the traffic jam.

Commuters have complained that despite the carpeting of Park Road being in progress, no diversion boards have been placed on the road. The absence of diversion board leads to long queues of vehicles being formed.

In this regard, citizens have demanded that required measures to complete the carpeting of Park Road immediately and to keep the traffic flowing.
