RAWALPINDI:

The Naseerabad police claim to have solved the mystery of a beheaded body found in the trunk on Jhamra Misrial Road and arrested the victim's close relative for committing the offence for want of money.

After spotting the beheaded body in a trunk in the fields, the police launched a detailed investigation after registration of a blind murder case.

A team headed by the Cantonment DSP was constituted to trace the case.

The victim was identified as Nasir, who operated a tractor-trolley to make both ends meet. Nasir, a father of four daughters, employed the brother of his wife due to the latter's difficult financial situation.

During the investigation, the police established that Nasir's brother-in-law Nadeem had suspicious statements and started interrogating him in detail. The suspect finally confessed to killing Nasir with the repeated strikes of an axe, beheading him, throwing his head into the water, dumping the body in a trunk and throwing it at a deserted place to hide his identity.

Nadeem told the police investigators that he wanted to sell Nasir's tractor trolley for want of money, but the latter resisted as the vehicle was only support for the victim's employment.
