Elon Musk, the world’s richest man and owner of the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), is reportedly channeling millions from his $240 billion fortune into supporting Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential bid.

As Trump works to secure a second term, Musk has become one of his most prominent—and controversial—advocates, using his influence on X to provide free, extensive campaign exposure.

Through his platform, Musk posts and amplifies pro-Trump messages that have reached an estimated $100 million in equivalent advertising value, according to recent analyses.

In addition, Musk’s America PAC has reportedly raised at least $75 million in direct support for Trump-aligned voter outreach, especially in critical swing states.

This figure may only scratch the surface, as some reports indicate Musk could be further supplementing his contributions via untraceable “dark money” donations.

Musk’s consistent tweeting of election-related posts on X has drawn massive engagement, often far surpassing Trump’s own following on the platform.

The posts feature pro-Trump themes, criticisms of the Biden administration, and opposition to Democratic policies, reaching millions daily.

Musk’s activity includes AI-generated images, memes, and calls to action supporting Trump, all of which contribute to an outsized influence in the digital political arena.

While Musk has claimed his platform is politically neutral, his frequent, high-reach posts have had the practical effect of elevating Trump’s campaign reach.

This intense involvement has also caught the attention of the US Department of Justice (DOJ), which recently warned Musk about a controversial $1 million giveaway aimed at voters in swing states through America PAC.

Officials suggest that this tactic may violate federal laws prohibiting vote-buying, as the election approaches.

Musk’s role in Trump’s campaign exemplifies how his wealth and media control have enabled a new model of influence, leading to growing scrutiny about how billionaires can impact democratic processes.
