Pakistan cricket star and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, son-in-law of former captain Shahid Afridi, has shared the first picture with his newborn son on his Instagram.

Afridi, who has been given a break from the Test series against England, is currently spending time with his family. In the photo, he is seen holding his son close to his chest, though the baby's face is not fully visible. "At peace," Afridi captioned the post.

Shaheen Afridi and Ansha Afridi tied the knot in September 2023, and the couple welcomed their son, Ali Yar, in August 2024.

After record breaking win by Englant in first test, Pakistan cricket selectors had announced a revamped squad for the second and third Test matches against England.

In a strategic decision influenced by player performance and fitness assessments, the selectors had chosen to rest key players, including Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

This move is also aimed at managing the workload of these players, considering Pakistan's upcoming commitments in the 2024-25 international cricket season.
