Pak pilgrims attend Nizamuddin's urs

A group of 75 Pakistani zaireen (pilgrims) visiting India attended the 721st urs of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia (RA) in New Delhi.

The Charge d' Affaires of Pakistan to India, Saad Ahmad Warraich, laid the traditional chador on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan at the shrine of the revered sufi saint.

The charge d' affaires and the Pakistani zaireen were welcomed at the shrine by Sajjadah Nasheen Dewan Tahir Nizami. The participants offered dua and prayed for Pakistan's progress and prosperity.

Warraich also paid his respects at the Dargah of Hazrat Amir Khusro (RA) located within the same compound. The Sajjadah Nasheen performed the dastaarbandi (turban-tying ceremony) of the charge d' affaires and group leader of the zaireen.

Speaking on the occasion, Warraich honoured the role of sufi saints in advocating universal brotherhood, love and tolerance, in accordance with the tenets of Islam.
