Police register case three months after child abduction

Woman alleges bribery, false cases against witnesses

Three months after her children were abducted, a woman from Dunyapur finally saw a case registered against seven named and two unidentified suspects, following an order from the High Court.

Sumaira, a resident of Head Manjha Mauza Bohar Langah, held a press conference at the Lodhran Press Club, accompanied by her sister-in-law, Sabran.

She shared that 12 years ago, she was married to Fayyaz of Ladha Bohar, and they have three children: Umair (8), Ali Hasan (6), and Noor Fatima (4).

Due to ongoing domestic violence and disputes, Sumaira had left her in-laws and moved to her father's home.

On July 26, she alleged, Fayyaz, along with Iqbal, Riaz, Haq Nawaz, Gulzar, Asia, Zareena, and others, abducted her three children and stole Rs50,000 worth of valuables. Despite her immediate complaint at Sadar Dunyapur police station, no action was taken.

However, following the High Court's intervention, the police finally registered the kidnapping case on October 1, three months after the incident. Sumaira claimed that the police still had not arrested the accused or recovered her children.

She further alleged that her husband had bribed the police, leading to their inaction, and that they colluded with the accused by filing a false adultery case against her witnesses, Muhammad Fayyaz and Muhammad Basheer.
