HARIPUR:

The month-long strike by patwaris in the Hazara region has ended following successful negotiations between officials from the Anjuman-i-Patwarian and key provincial authorities.

The talks involved Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Provincial Minister for Revenue and State, Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, and Hazara Commissioner Syed Zahirul Islam Shah.

The Anjuman-i-Patwarian's leadership announced the strike's end, expressing gratitude to the provincial government, the Minister for Revenue and State, and the Hazara Commissioner for approving their demands.

Participants in the negotiations included All Pakistan Patwari Association President Sarfraz Abbasi, Divisional President Sajid Jahangiri, Senior President Hazara Farhat Hamoz Khan, and district presidents from Abbottabad, Mansehra, and Haripur.

The discussions were held in a cordial atmosphere, and the patwaris were assured that their grievances would be addressed. Provincial Minister Nazir Ahmed Abbasi emphasised the importance of resolving public issues, highlighting the shared responsibility of officials to protect citizens' rights and provide timely relief. The strike had caused significant difficulties for the public over the past month.
