Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, has met with the senior military and naval leadership of the Netherlands during an official visit, according to a Pakistan Navy news release issued on Saturday.
The Admiral held a joint meeting with top officials at the Netherlands Ministry of Defence, where professional matters of shared interest, including bilateral defence cooperation, were discussed.
During the discussions, Admiral Naveed Ashraf emphasised the need to enhance interactions between the armed forces of both countries through joint exercises and training exchanges.
Deputy Chief of Defence, Vice Admiral Boudewijin Boots, acknowledged the importance of strong military cooperation and stressed the need for further collaboration in expanded military areas.
Admiral Naveed Ashraf also visited the Royal Netherlands Navy Headquarters, where he met with Commander Royal Netherlands Navy, Vice Admiral René Tas. They discussed defence relations, bilateral naval collaboration, and regional maritime security.
The Admiral highlighted Pakistan Navy's contributions to regional maritime peace and stability through initiatives such as the Regional Maritime Security Patrols (RMSP) and participation in the Combined Maritime Force.
Later, Admiral Ashraf toured the DAMEN Shipyard and Zeven De Provincién Class Frigate, where he received a detailed briefing on ship maintenance and construction activities.
