Tropical Storm Oscar developed Saturday morning, located less than 100 miles east of the Turks and Caicos Islands. According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC), the storm has a 90% chance of further development over the next two days and seven days. Currently, Oscar is producing concentrated showers and thunderstorms, with advisories expected to be issued soon.

"If the current trends continue, advisories on a tropical depression or tropical storm will likely be issued later this morning," the NHC said in a statement. Despite the storm's formation, forecasters indicate that it will remain away from Florida, with current models suggesting it will stay out at sea.

In addition, WPBF meteorologists are monitoring another system, Invest 95-L, which has the potential to develop into a tropical depression or storm over the southwestern Caribbean Sea. While the 2024 hurricane season remains active, experts advise residents to stay informed through updates as systems continue to form in the Atlantic.
