Karachi is expected to experience hot and humid weather over the next three days, with temperatures possibly reaching 39°C, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The forecast indicates that the heat index will rise, with temperatures ranging from 34°C to 36°C today.

The Met Office predicts that tomorrow’s temperatures could climb to between 36°C and 38°C, with westerly winds blowing during the morning and south-westerly winds in the evening.

Other districts in the province are expected to witness hot and dry conditions as well.

Moreover, according to today's PMD press release depression over the west-central Arabian Sea has shifted further northwestward in the past 12 hours.

The system is about 1150 km southwest of Karachi and 830 km southwest of Gwadar. It lies around 130 km southeast of Duqm, Oman, and 190 km south-southwest of Masirah, Oman, with its centre about 490 km northeast of Salalah, Oman.

According to the Met Office, the depression is forecast to continue moving northwest towards the Oman coast and is expected to weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area by the morning of 16 October.

No coastal areas of Pakistan are under threat from this system, the Met Office confirmed.
