By-elections for three vacant councillor seats in the Cantonment Boards of Rawalpindi and Wah Cantt will be held on November 14.

The process for submitting nomination papers has been completed, with scrutiny of the submitted papers starting today, (Thursday) and continuing until October 18. Candidates from various political parties, including Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), and independent candidates, have entered the race. Intense negotiations and alliance formations are already underway for all three seats. After the scrutiny of nomination papers, an initial list of candidates will be published on October 18. Appeals against decisions made during scrutiny will be heard, followed by the announcement of the final polling scheme on October 31.

The by-elections will be conducted in Ward No. 6 of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board and in Wards No. 4 and 8 of the Wah Cantonment Board. Polling will take place on November 14 from 8am to 5pm.

All major political parties have already launched full-fledged campaigns to secure victory for their candidates. The elections are expected to witness keen competition as the political landscape remains dynamic in these cantonment areas.
