Hajra Yamin doesn't let haters tell her what to wear

Actor pays no heed to those calling her gym fits revealing

Actor Hajra Yamin often shares glimpses of her workout routines on social media, aiming to inspire others, particularly women, to embrace fitness and a healthy lifestyle. However, rather than appreciating her efforts, many online users seem fixated on criticising her gym attire, labelling it as "too revealing". Instead of focusing on the benefits she brings—encouraging others to become stronger and healthier—these critics pay attention to the wrong thing.

In a recent conversation on Excuse Me with Ahmad Ali Butt, Hajra opened up about how she deals with these online trolls. "I don't deal with it," she repeated multiple times. "I don't think it's worth my attention. I'd rather put my energy elsewhere." While Hajra admits that at times the hateful comments do get to her, she refuses to let them dictate her choices. "Will I make myself uncomfortable because of some trolls? No."

The conversation then shifted to the behind-the-scenes aspect of her career, where the actor expressed her preference for working with the same people she started out with. "I am still with the people I started with. With changing your team, sometimes when you're going through a bad time, they can disappear. The people who have seen you from before, and in a very vulnerable state, if they take the risk of taking you and helping you out, then you know they're in it for the long haul."

When discussing her friendships, particularly with women in Karachi, Hajra proudly shared that she has cultivated a close-knit group of female friends. "I have made a couple of true friends—I really have. I have picked a family for myself, and the point was to always have a safe circle of women around me." In a culture where female friendships are sometimes seen as fraught with competition, Hajra's stance was refreshing. "That's all I want. It's very important to have strong female friendships. That support is all that matters."

On the topic of feminism, the actor's response was simple and clear: "Gender equality." She elaborated, "That's the basic definition. When it comes to blurring this concept, people need to educate themselves. There's Google available to them where our country's statistics are clearly mentioned. Instead of starting hate movements against women or any gender, it's better to just pick up your phone and do some research."
