Russell Brand sparked social media buzz on October 15 after appearing in an ad for a $239.99 “magical amulet” from Airestech, which claims to protect users from harmful electromagnetic fields emitted by wireless devices.

In the video, Brand walks through a garden wearing the amulet and carrying a suitcase, stating that it shields him from “evil energies” present in environments with high WiFi and mobile signals. He humorously demonstrates the amulet’s supposed power by showing increased strength while lifting the suitcase.

The original TikTok video, posted on Airestech’s page, is no longer visible, but the video quickly became the subject of widespread mockery, with one notable critique pointing out the irony of Brand using a wireless mic while warning about the dangers of wireless technology. While some viewers speculated that the video might be satirical, Brand is listed as an official partner of Airestech, which claims the amulet reduces harmful effects of electromagnetic fields (EMFs).

The World Health Organization (WHO), however, states that no current evidence confirms health risks from low-level EMF exposure. According to the WHO, even high exposure levels from mobile phones do not appear to cause harmful effects.
