Hopes arrival of Chinese PM will speed up CPEC projects

Welcoming all participants of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed confidence that the meeting will open new avenues of mutual cooperation.

"The goals of poverty alleviation and economic development will be achieved through mutual cooper-ation," she said.

The chief minister said the SCO conference would prove to be a game changer for Pakistan.

She especially welcomed the arrival of Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang on behalf of the Punjab gov-ernment and people.

The visit of the Chinese prime minister to Pakistan is deemed as the beginning of a new chapter of mutual friendship. The relations between China and Pakistan are the guarantors of world peace, prosperity and development of the region," she stated.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said the launching of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) dur-ing the rule of the PML-N was a proof of the friendship between the two countries.

She added, "With the arrival of the Chinese prime minister, the CPEC projects will accelerate and hun-dreds of thousands of employment opportunities will be generated."

Pakistan and China are moving together towards a prosperous and peaceful future.

The Belt and Road Initiative profoundly expresses China's commitment to global prosperity. People across the globe are benefiting from the fruits of China's economic development, she said.
