Players disappoint at C’wealth Youth Games

KARACHI: Pakistan’s disappointing campaign at the Commonwealth Youth Games ended as Raheem Khan failed to make any impression in the men’s javelin throw event in the Isle of Man.

While Khan finished a poor 10th after covering only 29.54 metres (m), swimmer Mahnoor Maqsood continued her unimpressive run and finished 23rd in the 50-m backstroke event. Maqsood covered the distance in 36.91 seconds.

The Commonwealth Youth Games will conclude on September 13 with England heading the tally with 19 gold medals ahead of Australia with 18. South Africa are placed third with a total of five gold medals.
