Justin Bingham, the CEO of tech company Opiniion, has been identified as the 40-year-old man who fell to his death while canyoneering in Zion National Park. The tragic incident occurred on October 5, 2024, when Bingham was exploring Heaps Canyon with three friends. Despite rescue efforts involving more than 50 team members, Bingham did not survive the fall.

Opiniion, the software company Bingham co-founded, confirmed his passing in a press release on October 7. "Justin was involved in a tragic accident while enjoying one of his greatest passions — exploring the outdoors. His adventurous spirit and commitment to building meaningful relationships left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him," the statement read.

Bingham was the father of four children and ran a family blog, "Our Life in Holland," with his wife Lindsay. The blog detailed their lives, travels, and their son Landon’s treatment for cerebral palsy, with thousands of followers across YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

Zion National Park officials expressed their condolences following the accident. "Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the family and friends during this unimaginably difficult time," said Park Superintendent Jeff Bradybaugh.

Opiniion’s co-founder and COO, Devin Shurtleff, remembered Bingham for his optimism and leadership. "Justin wasn’t just a leader — he was a mentor, a dad, and a friend to many of us," Shurtleff shared. "His legacy will continue through the work we do and the relationships we build."

The Bingham family has requested privacy during this difficult time as they mourn the loss of a beloved husband, father, and visionary leader.
