Netflix continues its restructuring efforts with a fresh round of layoffs on Thursday, impacting approximately 10 employees in the series and film publicity departments. The job cuts are part of an ongoing reorganization led by Natalie Bjelajac, who took over as VP of Domestic Publicity in July 2024.

One of the most notable figures affected was Director of Publicity Jason Clark, who had been with the streaming giant for over seven years. Clark confirmed the news on Instagram, expressing the challenges of being laid off, stating, “Getting laid off sucks, which has impacted many of my Netflix friends today and over the past months.”

These layoffs come on the same day that Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, Bela Bajaria, announced new series pickups and renewals during the Bloomberg Screentime event.

This isn't the first time Netflix has implemented workforce reductions. In April, the company let go of 15 employees in its film department following a restructuring after Dan Lin took over from Scott Stuber.

The layoffs reflect the broader challenges in the media industry, where economic pressures have led to significant job cuts across companies in 2024.
