Pakistan has planned to host three events per day at its pavilion, which will be established at the multilateral climate conference COP29, to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan from Nov 11.
The conference will bring together international experts to deliberate on the growing climate vulnerabilities and the global need to accelerate action against the adverse impacts of global warming and environmental degradation.
This was stated by the officials from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination to the National Assembly Standing Committee on Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, chaired by Munaza Hassan on Thursday.
The ministry officials outlined the core pillars of Pakistan's participation at COP29, which will include three daily events at the Pakistan Pavilion.
The committee, under the chair's leadership, conducted a comprehensive review of the country's preparations for the upcoming COP29, while Ministry officials briefed the members on the major focus areas for the conference.
While the ministry presented ambitious plans, the committee expressed concerns over delays in approving carbon credit guidelines and emphasized the need for greater involvement.
