Court seeks report on 'missing' brothers

ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Interior, and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), among other agencies, to submit a report by next week regarding the ongoing search for four missing brothers from Islamabad. The court instructed the SSP Investigation to reach out to all intelligence agencies and write to the four provinces to aid in the recovery efforts.

Chief Justice Aamer Farooq presided over the hearing concerning the disappearance of the four brothers from the Khanna police jurisdiction. The petitioner's counsel, Mufeed Khan, along with the missing individuals' mother, the SSP Investigation of Islamabad police, and the SSP Operations of Rawalpindi police, were present in court. Despite judicial orders, the four brothers, who have been missing since January of this year, have not yet been located.

The chief justice expressed frustration with the Islamabad police's lack of accountability, stating, "There seems to be no responsibility taken.
