The UK has introduced a new AI-enabled scam detection tool, Ask Silver, designed to help users determine whether a text message is safe.

This innovative tool can be accessed within WhatsApp and appears as a regular contact once users sign up.

When users receive a suspicious text, they can simply upload a screenshot to Ask Silver, which will instantly analyse the content and inform them of its safety.

The tool's capabilities extend beyond WhatsApp; users can also share screenshots of suspicious emails or messages from websites, allowing for comprehensive protection against various types of online scams.

Additionally, Ask Silver provides guidance on next steps and helps users report any fraudulent messages if necessary.
