ISLAMABAD:

JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has strongly condemned the violence against participants of jirgas in Wana and Khyber, calling for the government and state to refrain from worsening the situation through force and aggression.

"The state must listen to the tribal people. Violence and gunfire will only escalate the situation," Maulana Fazlur Rehman warned, stressing that the violence against the tribes in Wana and Khyber was deplorable.

He urged the authorities not to aggravate the fragile situation further, noting that "movements do not die out through violence, they only rise stronger."
