President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari praised MMA fighter, Shahzaib Rind and presented a checque of Rs100 million.

On Wednesday, President Asif Ali Zardari presented a cheque of Rs100 million to Shahzaib Rind, Pakistan's first-ever world champion in karate, during a ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Shahzaib, a 26-year-old Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter from Balochistan, made history last month by winning the Karate Combat Championship (KC-49) in Singapore, defeating Brazil’s Bruno Roberto De Assis in the final.

During the ceremony, President Zardari congratulated Shahzaib on his remarkable achievement and praised him for elevating Pakistan's name in the sport of karate.

He emphasized the importance of encouraging youth in sports, stating, "There is immense talent among the youth of Pakistan; there is a need to give opportunities." 

Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, was also present on the occasion.

Shahzaib's victory has been celebrated across the nation. Upon his return, he received a warm welcome at Quetta airport, where he was greeted by Chief Minister Bugti, provincial officials, and numerous fans.

Notably, Shahzaib is a six-time national champion and has previously won the Combat League in the United States.

His dedication and success have made him a role model for aspiring athletes in Pakistan.
