Robert Saleh has been fired as head coach of the New York Jets following the team’s 2-3 start to the 2024 NFL season, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The decision came after a 23-17 loss to the undefeated Minnesota Vikings in London. Saleh, who was hired in 2021, finishes his time with the Jets holding a 20-36 record. Despite acquiring star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the team has struggled to perform this season.
Fox Sports' Peter Schrager reports that defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich will take over as interim head coach.
Meanwhile, Jets fans have begun speculating whether Rodgers played a role in Saleh’s firing. One fan commented, “Robert Saleh goes down, while Nate Hackett survives... the unchecked power of a 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers knows no bounds.”
