While discussing his support for fossil fuels and criticism of the Biden Administration's energy policies, Trump became distracted by the insect. “I don’t like flies. Get out of here, fly,” he said, swatting the air. The moment escalated when he jokingly compared the fly to himself, telling the audience, “This one in particular is very aggressive. Like I’m going to be aggressive for our country,” drawing cheers from the crowd.

This marked the second time in just over a week that Trump was disrupted by a fly while on stage. On September 28, during a rally in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, he similarly commented on a fly, asking, “I wonder where the fly came from?”

The incident quickly gained attention online, with the Republican accountability group American Bridge 21st Century remarking, “Trump can’t stay on track and gets very distracted from his dark, bizarre, lie-filled speech by a fly.” Ron Filipkowski, editor-in-chief of MeidasTouch, added to the criticism, comparing the moment to someone wandering aimlessly, remarking, “Sounds like a guy wandering around a garden at the Assisted Living Facility.”
