KARACHI:

On Palestine Solidarity Day, tens of thousands of people took to the streets simultaneously at noon to show solidarity with Palestinians.

Students, journlists, lawyers, elected representatives, doctors and other professionals as well as women demonstrated against Israel over genocide in Gaza.

JI Karachi Ameer Monem Zafar addressed a big protest demonstration held at Power House Chowrangi, North Karachi.

He said that on October 7, 2023, freedom fighters, belonging to Hamas and other organizations shattered the Israeli impression that she was undefeatable.

He added that the Israeli regime has so far killed almost 45,000 innocent Palestinians, majorly women, children and elderly unarmed civilians to take revenge of its defeat and humiliation by the freedom fighters.

Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab expressing grief over the plight of the oppressed and helpless Palestinian people said "it is not enough to merely condemn oppression wherever it occurs; action is needed to stop the oppressor."

Karachi is active in this regard, and whether the oppression occurs in Palestine, Kashmir, or elsewhere, the citizens of Karachi have consistently voiced their protests, Mayor Wahab said on the occasion of Palestine Solidarity Day during a meeting with women council members who participated in the rally led by Pakistan Peoples Party's Chief Whip Musarrat Niazi.

Pakistan Markazi Muslim League organised a Children's Gaza Conference to mark the one-year anniversary of Israeli aggression in Gaza. Thousands of schoolchildren participated in the conference, held at Shahrah-e-Qaideen, carrying Palestinian flags and expressing solidarity with the innocent people of Gaza.

Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen, Pakistan Sunni Tehreek, Pakistan Islamic Medical Association, and many other political and religious organisations staged demonstrations.
