During Diddy’s ongoing legal troubles, well-known DJ and rapper Lord Jamar made controversial statements regarding Diddy being involved with a so-called "Gay Mafia." In an interview released on The Art of Dialogue's YouTube channel on October 5, 2024, the host asked Lord Jamar if he believed there was a "gay mafia" in hip hop.

Lord Jamar responded by suggesting that certain influential figures in hip hop are "pressing the buttons." He specifically named Diddy, often referred to as "Puffy," and claimed,
“This is part of it. You just saw one of the gay mafia members. That’s who he is, that’s who Puffy is. He is one of the members of the mob. He’s a mafia member. But he might not be the Don Carl, he is not the godfather. He is one of the heads of the family.”

He further brought up Diddy’s liquor brands, DeLeón Tequila and Ciroc Vodka, saying,
“Some say that he got a little too big for his britches and when he ended up suing that liquor company DeLeón, that’s when it all started going downhill for him.”

The interview on The Art of Dialogue was posted about 20 days after Diddy, also known as Sean Combs, was arrested in New York following a grand jury indictment. Reports indicate that the rapper was charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and fraud.

Lord Jamar’s comments about Diddy and his arrest shocked many, but he didn’t stop there. He also speculated that Jay-Z could be the next to face public scrutiny.

When asked how he felt about people saying "Jay-Z is next," Jamar responded, "You know, I will say that Jay-Z, if he was doing ill like that, he was more quiet about it. You know what I mean? But then, if we are real with ourselves, it was kinda abnormal when he got with Beyoncé. She was pretty young when he got with her.”

Additionally, Lord Jamar’s remarks about Diddy being involved in a “Gay Mafia” led some social media users to recall Kim Porter’s memoir. In it, Porter reportedly recounted incidents of Diddy being a child sexual abuser. For context, Kim Porter shared four children with Sean "Diddy" Combs. According to Billboard, Porter allegedly stored her accounts on a flash drive, which she entrusted to friends before her death in 2018.
