Policeman shot dead over enmity

He was rushed to the Allied Hospital with six bullet wounds.

A police constable was shot dead allegedly his opponents over a dispute in Chak Jhumra.

According to the police, 36-year-old Shahid Haleem, a constable posted in the session court by the Kotwali police station, was on standby for law and order duty at his village in the Moloani Harlan area was killed in an attack. He was on his way home with groceries on his bike when the attackers, who were also accused in drug cases, shot him.

He was rushed to the Allied Hospital with six bullet wounds, where he died.

Police officers including Chak Jhumra SHO Ali Ikram Goraya took the body for post-mortem and launched a hunt for the killers

According to the SHO, the deceased Shahid Haleem had divorced the wife of the suspect Saddam's brother three years ago. Due to this grudge, Saddam killed him.

Faisalabad City Police Officer Kamran Adil sought a report on the incident from the Madina Town SP and formed teams to arrest the attackers. The CPO ordered the SP to collect evidence from the spot through forensic teams and arrest the attackers as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, a girl was raped on the pretence of a job. According to the police, Ali Haider, a resident of Jhaal, lured the victim from Jattanwala Chowk by promising her a job.

He persuaded her to meet him at the Ghulam Muhammadabad General Hospital, from where he took her on a motorcycle to an unknown location.
