At least six people were killed on Saturday morning as Israeli airstrike targeted various locations in Lebanon, including Beirut’s southern suburbs, the Bekaa Valley in the east, and a town in southern Lebanon.

Lebanon's state news agency reported that the Israeli military conducted 12 airstrikes on Beirut's southern suburbs, hitting key areas.

Among the victims, one individual was killed when an Israeli strike hit a house in the Saad Nayel neighborhood of the Bekaa Valley. In the Rashaya Valley, the director of Al-Abrar School was killed when an airstrike targeted his residence.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese Civil Defense reported four more fatalities and one injured individual in the town of Joya, located in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon.

An Israeli airstrike collapsed a residential building, trapping civilians under the rubble. Rescue operations are ongoing.

Israeli forces also launched invasion in the Burj al-Barajneh area of Beirut’s southern suburbs, but details regarding casualties or the extent of the damage remain unclear.

These attacks come as Israel continues its military invasions across Lebanon.

Since the outbreak of the conflict in Gaza following October 7, the region has been on the brink of a wider regional war.

In Gaza, over 41,595 Palestinians, mostly civilians, have been killed, with more than 96,000 injured as Israeli forces continue their offensive.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has drawn widespread international concern, with millions displaced from their homes.

Lebanese authorities report over 2,011 deaths and more than 9,500 injuries in Lebanon since the start of these hostilities.

Previously, Iran's foreign minister Abbas Araqchi stated that Tehran supported efforts for a ceasefire in Lebanon and Gaza on the condition it would be backed by Hezbollah.

The international community has warned of the risk of the conflict spreading beyond Gaza and into a broader regional war, especially with Hezbollah’s increasing involvement and Israeli retaliation.
