Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Colonel General Sergey Yuryevich Istrakov, met with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza during an official visit to Pakistan on Friday at the Joint Staff Headquarters.
During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of bilateral defence cooperation and discussed the evolving security situation in the region.
They exchanged views on promoting regional peace and stability, according to a statement issued by the military's media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Colonel General Istrakov praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their significant sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
