Kesha unveils 10-year plan to ‘dismantle’ the music industry

Kesha has outlined a 10-year strategy to overhaul the music industry, focusing on preventing exploitation.

Kesha, who has been entangled in legal battles with former producer Dr. Luke for over a decade, announced her plan to “dismantle” the music industry and protect future artists from similar experiences. Speaking in an interview with Elle, Kesha shared, “The music industry should be fing terrified of me. I’m about to make some major moves and shift this s… I hope my legacy is making sure it never happens to anybody ever again.”

After releasing her fifth album Gag Order in 2023, Kesha launched her own label, Kesha Records, marking her freedom from Kemosabe Records. She is now focused on tackling unfair contractual practices and advocating for artists’ rights, particularly opposing “ownership in perpetuity” clauses. “I don’t believe in ownership in perpetuity of anyone, anything, on any level,” she explained.

Kesha is also collaborating with the tech industry to develop a digital platform that will prioritize artists' safety. “The old way of doing everything with secrecy—there’s no future there. So, like, those of you with deep, dark secrets, you better f***ing run,” she warned.
