Donna Kelce says she and ex-husband Ed “stayed together for the kids”

Mama Kelce opened up about her “friendly” relationship with Ed to ensure stability for their sons, Travis and Jason.

Donna Kelce, affectionately known as “Mama Kelce,” recently shared insights into her marriage and family life in an interview for Glamour’s 2024 Women of the Year: The Moms issue. 

The 71-year-old mother of NFL stars Jason Kelce, 36, and Travis Kelce, 34, discussed the challenges she and ex-husband Ed Kelce faced, revealing they “stayed together for the kids.”

“I was a commercial banker for a bank in several different states. I wanted to get ahead. I worked really, really hard. I was a major breadwinner in the family,” Donna stated. Despite her professional success, she acknowledged that her marriage wasn’t ideal. 

“My husband and I knew that our marriage was not working, but we stayed together for the kids,” she said. Donna described their bond as “a very friendly relationship” that allowed them to prioritize their sons' well-being and ensure their lives were as “normal as possible.”

In addition to her candid reflections on marriage, Donna Kelce spoke about the difficulties of motherhood, describing it as “the hardest thing” she’s ever done. She emphasized that raising children is more daunting than any professional task she has faced.

Outside of her family life, Donna is now exploring new opportunities. She’s set to appear in Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story on the Hallmark Channel and makes a cameo in Christmas on Call.
