A former employee has filed a lawsuit against Garth Brooks, accusing the country singer of rape, sexual assault, and making explicit comments about wanting a "threesome" involving her and his wife, Trisha Yearwood.

The accuser, identified in the lawsuit as "Jane Roe," alleges that Brooks, 62, engaged in inappropriate behavior while she was employed as his makeup artist in 2019.

Roe claims that Brooks exposed himself and frequently discussed sexual fantasies, including a threesome involving his wife, whom he married in 2005. Roe also asserts that Yearwood overheard one of these conversations "on at least one occasion."

Roe, who began working for Yearwood in 1999 and later for Brooks, stopped working for the country star in 2021 and moved to Mississippi. According to the complaint, the accusations include multiple incidents where Brooks allegedly undressed in front of Roe and made sexually charged remarks.

In response to the lawsuit, Brooks issued a statement to PEOPLE, describing the accusations as an extortion attempt. "For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars," Brooks stated, firmly denying the claims.

He emphasized his trust in the legal process and reiterated that he "is not the man they have painted me to be."
