A wedding bus plunged into a ravine on Quetta's Barori Bypass, leaving seven people dead and 37 others injured, including women and children, on Thursday.
According to Express News, the accident occurred due to speeding, causing the driver to lose control while navigating a sharp turn. The bus fell several feet into the ravine, leading to the tragic loss of lives.
The Balochistan Health Department confirmed that seven people were killed, while 37 sustained injuries. Among the injured, seven are in critical condition.
The Balochistan government expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and has launched an investigation into the incident.
Emergency measures were imposed at local hospitals to ensure timely medical care for the injured. Those critically injured have been transferred to CMH for specialised treatment.
Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, expressed his condolences, calling the accident "heartbreaking" and "deeply saddening." He has ordered an inquiry into the cause of the crash, stating, "If negligence is found, action will be taken."
The chief minister also directed the health department to ensure the best possible medical assistance to the injured and extended condolences to the families of the victims.
