Denzel Washington storms out of Diddy's wild party after heated exchange: "You don’t respect anyone"
Denzel Washington reportedly had a heated exchange with Sean “Diddy” Combs at one of the rapper’s parties in the early 2000s, according to a new report.
The 69-year-old Oscar-winning actor allegedly “screamed” at Combs before leaving an all-night event hosted by the music mogul in 2003, an unnamed source told Us Weekly.
The insider, described by the outlet as someone who was “friendly” with Diddy in the early 2000s, provided details of the incident.
“Denzel screamed, ‘You don’t respect anyone,’” the source claimed.
According to the insider, Denzel and his wife, Pauletta, had been partying with Diddy until the early hours and left abruptly after witnessing something at the party.
Combs is currently facing charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
He has entered a plea of not guilty to all charges.
After Combs’ arrest at a New York City hotel on September 16, federal prosecutors unsealed an indictment accusing the rapper of hosting “freak offs” – elaborate sex parties where women were allegedly lured for the pleasure of Combs and his guests.
Even before his arrest, Combs was known for throwing extravagant, wild parties, often attended by A-list celebrities like Washington.
One of the rapper’s most famous events, a $3 million 40th birthday party at New York’s Plaza Hotel in 2009, included Washington among the attendees.
Although Washington has never publicly commented on Combs’ parties, comedian Brandon T. Jackson has shared that the “Fences” star warned him to always leave Hollywood parties “before the devil get there.”
“Denzel always told me, [when] we be at the parties, ‘You leave 30 minutes before the devil get there. OK?’ Always remember that Denzel would leave the parties early,” Jackson revealed during the “Breaking the Machine” podcast in January.
A clip from the interview has gone viral following Combs' arrest.
